This is a photograph of me shot May 23, 2001. I tell you this because I don't want to give a false impression of what I look like. This is a self portrait shot on a Canon A-1 35mm camera using a 80 to 200mm L-series lens.  I was attempting to capture the presence of the wind by setting my shutter speed at 1/2 second at f/32.  I did manage to capture some movement but I think that a 1 second exposure would have been more appropriate in this setting. Holding still for even a 1/2 second exposure sure did give me a true appreciation of the photographers of the past when their average exposure time was 2 minutes.
