Watch a 6 minute video of our 8mm movie transfer system
If you previously had your 8mm movies transferred to VHS tape or have inherited old family movies but no way of viewing them, give us a call. Let me restore one reel of your original movie film, watch it on your television, and see for yourself the quality and care we put into every movie.
Our movie scans are a full-service production. What does this mean? Just like the full-service gas stations in the past, for a little higher price per gallon, the gas station attendant would pump your gas, wash your windows, check the oil and tire pressure to keep you and your car safe on the road.
How does this relate to movies? Simple. We strive for excellence from the very start. I was not happy with my movie experiences growing up because of the many things that would go wrong when watching our home movies. Why would I perpetuate the same frustrations to my customers by offering lower quality scans and then try to upsell them with fees to match the services I include? Usually, by the time all fees are added together to compare their apples to my apples the only difference is, I will give you a finished movie without any regrets. Your movies will be beautiful and completely ready for a fantastic family movie night.
Here is What Our Service Includes:
Your film never leaves our location.
We scan in HD, (the same resolution of the original movie film). This is 4x the quality of VHS tape transfers offered in the 1980's.
We do NOT offer a lower quality scanning service for a cheaper price. This is a really bad thing to do because a cheap scan can never be undone. The movie film will have to be re-scanned.
Your film is inspected and repaired, cleaned, and lubricated before scanning.
The operator makes live exposure and framing adjustments during the capture to get the most of every scene.
The captured scans are saved as uncompressed image sequence files.
Spliced sections and damaged frames are removed.
Color corrections are made in person by scenes not reels.
With your guidance, the film is then organized in chronological order.
Titles can be added to remind viewers of special events or locations.
We cannot transfer sound, so license-free music is added for ambience.
To finish your film, we export the edited project as a 1080p.mp4 file using the H.264 streaming codec to a USB thumbdrive stored inside a personalized case for safekeeping.
To archive your films: all jobs over 500ft. are saved as unedited uncompressed BMP files and the entire edited Premiere Pro 2025 project to a portable harddrive for future edits and project additions.
